[ApacheGallery] Re: upgrade made thumbnails go away - and fishy errors
I have gotten a bit further with this issue (and there's a question at
the end :).
I found out that the module I saw (when viewing a specific image - which
gave me fishy errors), was that for some reason, my upgrade from perl
5.8.5 to 5.8.8 (same version mod_perl and apache2 - and recompiled
mod_perl after 5.8.8 upgrade) made "dynamic" loading of modules not work.
a "local $SIG{__DIE__};" in Image::Size made it die.
When I removed that, I got an error on it trying to load Image::Magick:
Can't locate Image::Magick in @INC (@INC contains: /home/httpd/perl
/etc/perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/i686-linux
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i686-linux
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl . /usr/lib/apache2) at
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/Image/Size.pm line 282.\n
which was very weird, seing as I had this file:
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/Image/Magick.pm
I then tried to preload it in mod_perl's startup.pl (also tried just
adding it as a use in top of Image::Size) and this worked - not a view
of images, shows the sizes of the image - no fishy errors :)
I now still have the same problem with the indexes of images (with
thumbnails) fails silently (again).
I guess there's some other module - which uses local $SIG - which fails
too.. I'll hunt this down some other day - right now I'm off to bed :)
-- question time :) --
Any one have any idea what could cause this sudden behavior change?
