[ApacheGallery] problems with Apache Gallery 0.7

I have installed Apache::Gallery 0.7 with RedHat 9. Aside from having to
manually link libXext.so and libX11.so to their actual names,
installtion went generally smoothly and I installed pretty much every
optional perl module as well to make sure that make test worked at it
should.

But, nothing shows up in the actual galleries. I get the html, but no
thumbnails or other images. What I do see in the errors logs is
something like this:

[Tue Sep 16 14:18:46 2003] [error] [client 216.200.151.162] File does
not exist: /var/www/html/gallery/foo/.cache/100x75-DSC01426.JPG,
referer: http://www.anticlockwise.com/gallery/foo/

why is .cache in there? should be looking in
/var/tmp/Apache-Gallery/www.anticlockwise.com/gallery/foo

right??

Is there an apache <location> or <alias> that I should be setting up?
